… water and swimmers …
This past weekend I wanted to take a different look at competitive swimming. I’ve long been fasinated with how liquids look when they are stopped in time, and adding in the swimmers made for some interesting looks when the two were combined. These are all spontaneous images and I expect there will be more experimenting in the future.

Jeff, I love this series…these are beautiful. I love the concept. I’m into conceptual stuff. I think it speaks more to the creative spirit!

Thanks Stephanie ~ Since my son has been on swim teams for the past 7 or eight years, I’ve become the unofficial team action photographer. The concept of these images was to try to convey more the expereince of the water instead of the pure action. It was fun, too.

I LOVE these pictures! I have the one you took of me at HC one summer a long time ago that looks like I’m in a bubble as I’m about to break the surface on a backstroke race. It still hangs in my house today, framed. It’s awesome…reminds me of my happy days in swimming!

Good to hear from you Katie. I do remember that photograph, and it was special to me, too. It was that photograph that inspired me to look more at the experience of the water more than the sports action that generated these. Thanks for sharing.
